RECURSE is the first-ever single created with a quantum computer. In collaboration with ILĀ, Moth developed a set of sequence generation tools the artist used to drive the creative process. As part of this project, we wanted to share [infinite.mix.001], a continuously generating musical remix powered by our quantum software platform Archaeo streamed directly to your browser.

Archaeo is our flagship software platform designed to incorporate quantum computing into consumer applications for the creative industry including music, video, storytelling, gaming, among others. Archaeo quantum software addresses major limitations in current procedural content and AI generation tools—including lack of transparency, generic outputs, high costs, and IP risks—by integrating quantum computing to boost algorithm expressivity and contextual depth. For this project we colloborated with IQM Quantum Computers to produce RECURSE.

ILĀ

ILĀ is a transgender mixed-race artist, producer, and creative director. They pioneered 'Quantum Computer Music' and now compose with DNA sequencing and a quantum synth, collaborating with Moth Quantum. Recent showcases include Puzzle X (Barcelona), Silencio (Paris), and City Quantum Summit (2023).

Moth is a software quantum computing company focused on applications for consumers and the creative industry. Quantum AI delivers expressive results while training on minimal data—allowing artists and creators to generate new compositions based solely on their original work. In partnership with IQM Quantum Computers and AWS Braket, we have enabled ILĀ to create the first-ever single composed with a quantum computer.
